The original Cabra Castle was built in the 1600's, however it was destroyed by the Cromwellian War and eventually rebuilt in the early 1800's. It was purchased by its present owners in 1991, the Corscadden family who re-opened it as a hotel. Since then the property has been extensively refurbished and expanded from 24 bedrooms, to incorporate the former Courtyard area bringing the total number of bedrooms to nearly 100.
